PUNE: The maximum temperature in the city is expected to go from pleasant to warm during the next few days, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast said on Tuesday.
The maximum temperature in the city is currently hovering at around 30°C and may increase further on account of the diminishing cloud cover.
The minimum temperature in Shivajinagar, too, rose to over 17°C on Tuesday, that is around 3 degrees above normal.

On Tuesday, Shivajinagar recorded 30.5°C as its day temperature, whereas Lohegaon recorded 30.2°C.
The night temperatures at both locations were above normal — 18.3°C at Lohegaon and 17.4°C at Shivajinagar.
However, the next few days — until November 18 — may see day temperatures increase to 32°C and night temperature hover at 17°C.
“There is still some moisture incursion into the city, which tends to keep the night temperatures on the higher side. However, the moisture is not that much to cause day-time cloudy conditions. Cloudy skies during the day help keep the maximum temperature low but since we will have mainly clear skies in the next few days, day temperatures will remain around 32°C,” an IMD official explained.

At the same time, there is still an easterly wind flow prevailing up to Pune and surrounding regions. Easterly winds, that come from the southern peninsula, are warm and moist. As a result, the winds tend to spike up temperatures in the regions that fall under their influence.
On November 7, the day temperature in Shivajinagar was lower than the 30°C-mark, at 29.7°C, but at Lohegaon it was 30.1°C. After that day, the maximum temperatures have been slightly higher than 30°C.
On Tuesday, minimums were above normal at many locations in the state, including Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Malegaon, Jalgaon, Parbhani and Akola, among others.
According to the IMD, the weather prediction until November 18 states that the city will see mainly clear skies.
While the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32°C until next Monday, the minimum temperature may not drop below 17°C.
In contrast, the city did not witness “October heat” this year. In fact, the average day temperature up to October 25 was a pleasant 29.9 °C as against the 30-plus average temperatures in the month recorded since 2010.
