I am happy about the phenomenal response that The Family Man has received. But, it was not a surprise for me since Raj Nidimoru and DK always knew that the product is going to be great. I also got compliments for my work in the series.

Q. Will you be seen in season two?

I am not doing the second season but I will be in season three. In fact, my character wasn’t there even in season one. I wanted to be a part of the series, and I asked for the antagonist Moosa Rahman’s role. But, Raj and DK had a different idea for me.

Q. Tell us about Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL.

Festive offer

I play a lawyer who settles disputes out of court in Kurnool town. My character is not very ambitious about winning big cases and making a name. He simply wants to make money. But, what happens when he ends up taking a big case? That is the story of the film. It is a very fun and happy film. We made this film with the intentions of making people laugh.

Q. It looks like you have become choosy when it comes to selecting your projects.

For the first time in my career, I am planning everything properly, including the kind of films I do. Earlier, I used to make movies with the sole intention of giving a box office hit. But, after a series of flops, I realized that I should not keep changing characters with every film. If the audience liked a certain character of mine, I should do at least some films with similar characterization, so that the audience can enjoy more of it. I should also change that character just before the audience gets tired of it. This is what I believe. I am not sure whether it is right or wrong. But, I am very careful about picking my characters and also making sure they are entertaining.

Q. Is A1 Express a remake of Tamil film Natpe Thunai?

That you tell me when you see the teaser trailer. I will not answer the question with a yes or no. And there is a reason why I am not saying it. A1 Express will be at least 50 per cent different from the film which you are referring to. We liked the plot and bought it. We reworked the plot for almost six months. And, finally, we drafted a film which needs to be made.

Q. What are your upcoming projects?

I have a fantastic script with me. I will produce it. I want to rope in Rahul and Priyadarshi for the lead roles.
