Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who shot to fame predominantly due to his acting prowess, is all set for the release of his upcoming comedy drama film ‘
Motichoor Chaknachoor’, despite the controversies surrounding its release.
During an interview with a channel, Nawazuddin encouraged critics to be supportive of small films, and went on to reiterate his statement from a few years ago when he had mentioned that superstars are necessary for the film industry of a particular country to sustain against Hollywood.
The actor stated that those big films work at the box office, thereby enabling the industry to churn out small-budget gems. While comparing the same with Hollywood, Nawazuddin said that films like ‘
Iron Man’ are made for kids, and it’s beyond his comprehension why grown-ups want to watch that over intelligent cinema.
In ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’, while Nawazuddin will be seen playing the role of Pushpinder Tyagi, a man desperate to get married,
Athiya Shetty will be seen as Annie, who is obsessed with marrying an NRI. And during a recent interview with
Bombay Times, the actor was asked how he interprets the concept of a hero. “I will do my own thing as a hero. I will play a hero the way it suits me. I will not follow anyone because that doesn’t come from within. I have always used my own senses and I will always do that. Like I am the hero of this film and I felt it was a great experience to play a light, simple character. In the near future, you will also find me doing films that are out and out romantic films. I’ve begun to enjoy this; I bring my own look and feel to it,” he said.
The film is slated to release on November 15, however, Bihar civil court has reportedly ordered a stay on the movie’s release over a copyright violation.
