10 things to know about possible Masked Singer Victor Oladipo

The latest episode of quirky singing competition "The Masked Singer" airs tonight on Fox, and rumors about the identity of the Thingamajig continue to circulate the internet.

Several clues point to Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo being the masked crooner. Oladipo has repeatedly denied the rumors, but that doesn't mean he's not the man behind the mask.

Here are 10 things to know about the basketball star turned possible singing show contestant.

Origin

Oladipo's full name is Kehinde Babatunde Victor Oladipo. He was born in Silver Spring, MD. He's a first-generation Nigerian-American.

Measurables

Oladipo is listed at 6-4, 210 pounds.

Attended basketball powerhouse

Oladipo played high school basketball at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, MD.

Former Stags coach Morgan Wooten retired as the winningest coach of all-time (1,200-plus wins) in 2002. He led the Stags to five national championships and was inducted to the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

Wooten's successor and Oladipo's high school coach Mike Jones continued the program's success, winning a national title in 2006.

Including Oladipo, 18 DeMatha alums have reached the NBA, most recently, No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz. Current Notre Dame men's basketball head coach Mike Brey is also a DeMatha alum.

Not an elite recruit

Oladipo has ascended to NBA superstar with the Indiana Pacers, but he was not a can't-miss prospect coming out of high school.

Oladipo was ranked as a three-star recruit among major recruiting services (Scout.com, Rivals.com and ESPN). He was not ranked among the top 25 at his position. Only Rivals had Oladipo in its top-150 overall for the 2010 class.

The shooting guard chose to play for coach Tom Crean at Indiana. He selected the Hoosiers over Notre Dame and Maryland.

Has most popular missed dunk in IU history

Oladipo quickly made a name for himself with his nonstop motor and high-level athleticism.

He put his bounce on display during a 2013 game against Michigan. Oladipo caught a lob from Jordan Hulls, cocked his arm back behind his head and hammered the ball off the rim.

The missed dunk defeated James Blackmon Jr.'s 2014 made dunk against Louisville in the first round of a contest for best dunk in IU history on thedailyhoosier.com.

Not the biggest steal of his draft class

Oladipo rode a successful junior season at IU all the way to becoming the No. 2 overall pick of the NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He was selected one pick after draft bust Anthony Bennett. The former Hoosier is one of the bright spots of a poor 2013 draft, but he's no longer its biggest success story.

Based on VORP (value over replacement player) No. 15 pick and 2019 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has the highest VORP at 26.1 according to basketball-reference.com.

Rudy Gobert (27th overall) is next with 21.6 VORP. Steven Adams (12th overall, 11.9 VORP), Mason Plumlee (22nd overall, 11.9 VORP) and Otto Porter (No. 3, 10.8 VORP) are all players selected after Oladipo with higher VORP's.

Oladipo ranks sixth in his class with 10.4 VORP.

Viewed as sixth man after trade to OKC

After three solid seasons in Orlando, Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and the rights to No. 11 pick Domantas Sabonis were traded to Oklahoma City for Serge Ibaka.

The trade moved Oladipo from a focal point with the Magic to fourth in the pecking order behind stars Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and rugged center Steven Adams.

Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors two weeks later, but Oladipo still struggled to adjust to his new role. In 67 games his scoring, rebounds and assists all decreased during his time with the Thunder.

Resurrection in Indiana

After a down year with OKC, Oladipo and Sabonis were traded to Indiana for star Paul George. The trade was the rare win-win for both teams. George led the Thunder to the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference while earning his fifth All-Star game selection.

Oladipo upped his scoring from 15.9 to 23.1 points per game, had a league-leading 2.4 steals per game, while increasing his rebounds and assists as well. The statistical jump earned him the Most Improved Player award, a All-NBA third-team selection and All-Star team honors.

Released an R&B album

Oladipo's showcased his singing skills since his days at IU, most notably crushing this cover of Bill Wither's "Aint No Sunshine" back in 2014.

The multi-talented star took his singing to the next level in 2018, releasing his debut album "V.O."

The five-song LP has features from PnB Rock, Tory Lanez, Trey Songz and Eric Bellinger.

Suffered gruesome injury

Victor Oladipo is out for the rest of the season after injuring his knee in the second quarter against the Raptors at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

During a Jan. 23 game against the Toronto Raptors, Oladipo went down while trying to defend a long pass. He was wheeled off the court on a stretcher.

He was later diagnosed with a raptured right quad tendon. He had surgery five days later and has been on the road to recovery ever since

The outgoing hooper has chronicled his recover through social media and his Youtube show "The V.O. Show."

He's expected to be out until December or January.
