NEW DELHI: While Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said his government needed more clarity on SC’s decision to refer the Sabarimala matter to a larger bench, Sangh Parivar-backed All India Sabarimala Action Council termed the move a ‘victory for Bharat and its believers’. “Our government is fully committed to abide by whatever the verdict is and there are no questions about it.
We understand that the SC judgment of September 28 is still in place... There is some ambiguity over the verdict and for more clarity, we will seek legal help,” Vijayan said in Thiruvananthapuram. Sabarimala Action Council head SJR Kumar said: “The earlier judgement had flaws. We are happy that our legal and physical struggles have borne fruit.

This case is now not just about Sabarimala but also about faith and court intervention in it.” “Age-old customs have to be preserved. The court did not say the earlier judgement holds, so we are interpreting it as being stayed.

Also, the spirit of the judgement is such that women should not go there,” said Sandeep Kumar, another member of the council. Meanwhile, Sabarimala Karma Samithi will conduct Deepakazhcha, the festival of lights in all temples of the state, to celebrate the SC move.
