After missing the last three games, Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish looks to have returned to full training.

Grealish has been out of action since the defeat against Manchester City last month. He was expected to return for the games against Liverpool and Wolves, must missed out on both as his calf injury was worse than first feared.

However, with another eight days until Villa face Newcastle United, it appears that the claret and blue talisman is nearing a first team return.

The club had suggested that Grealish was set to return to training at the back end of this week, but fears had been raised after several false dawns about his fitness.

But a post from Villa full-back Frederic Guilbert has shown that the 24-year-old is back in training at Bodymoor Heath.

The image, which was posted on Friday, showed Guilbert along with Grealish and summer signing Jota, who has also missed a portion of the season through injury.

The international break has come at an opportune time for Dean Smith's side, after suffering an injury nightmare in their most recent defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Grealish, Tom Heaton and Bjorn Engels missed the visit to Molineux, whilst Jed Steer and Matt Targett were withdrawn during the first half of action.

But fans were quick to notice Grealish's return, sending social media into a frenzy:

@NiallBowes: So Jack IS back in training. Fantastic

@AVFCali: Thanks for this Post! Jack is back

@AndrewBrough14: Yeahhhhh @JackGrealish1 back in training missed ya big man UTV
