BENGALURU: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths probing the alleged match-fixing and spot-fixing in Karnataka Premier League (KPL) found the active role of Ballari Tuskers team franchise owner Arvind Venkatesh Reddy in the scam and issued a look-out circular (LOC) against him.
Joint commissioner of police (crime) Sandeep Patil said Reddy is absconding; he reportedly left India a week ago.
A police officer said: “Reddy was actively involved in alleged match-fixing and spot-fixing in KPL 2018.
We issued an LOC and will arrest him once he lands in India.”
CCB sleuths had summoned Reddy for questioning in the initial stages of investigation and he reportedly denied any role in match-fixing. However, other players questioned by CCB took Reddy’s name and said he had tried to convince them to be part of the match-fixing. After a few days, Reddy allegedly left the country fearing arrest and is currently absconding.
CCB officials are questioning several KPL players, including a spinner who had represented Karnataka.
