Lou Ferrigno is back at it again. The former Hulk actor has said in the past that he can't take Mark Ruffalo seriously in the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk. Now, he says he is "disappointed" in the way the iconic character was portrayed in Avengers: Endgame, due to Ruffalo and Disney. Ferrigno played the green monster on the original TV series back in the 1970s and he is not a big fan of Smart Hulk, who was inspired by Professor Hulk from the original comic books.

While speaking at Canada's Hamilton Comic Con, Lou Ferrigno laid into the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again. For a lot of fans, it was great to see a new version of Hulk in Avengers: Endgame and it was something the character had been evolving towards in previous MCU movies. In addition, this story was inspired by the original comics. Regardless, Ferrigno had this to say about the latest incarnation of Hulk.

"What's happening is that the first two Hulk movies, the CGI was improving, but the last one, Endgame, I was disappointed. Because the Hulk needs to be hideous, he needs to be a creature. You see in Endgame, Mark Ruffalo - I think it has a lot to do with him and Disney - I didn't like the way it portrayed Hulk. It took away that beauty, that quality of the Hulk. That's why a lot of people liked the series."

Lou Ferrigno then went on to say that "too much" of Avengers: Endgame was "extreme with the spaceships, the shooting, the outer space." As much as he didn't like Smart Hulk in the movie, it sounds like he really didn't like the story as a whole either. Ferrigno just really does not seem to be too happy with the MCU's current state of affairs. He explains.

"We need good stories. Good elements, good messages about life. Because when you see the series, even like The Twilight Zone, the original Twilight Zone, you learn something from every episode. The CGI, I mean, it's all different. People like it that way because it's bigger entertainment on the screen."

As for who Lou Ferrigno likes in the Bruce Banner/Hulk roles, he has said in the past that Bill Bixby, who played Banner on the original TV series, is best. He has also said that he likes what Ed Norton did with the character too. But, while claiming Mark Ruffalo is a "wonderful actor," he just can't seem to "take him seriously enough." This is a far cry from the way current MCU fans feel about Ruffalo and his portrayal of the character.

When looking at Lou Ferrigno's comments on who he likes best as Bruce Banner/Hulk, it might have some sour grapes attached. He starred as Hulk while Bill Bixby played Bruce Banner on the original series, while he provided vocal effects for Hulk in The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron (uncredited). Ferrigno also portrayed Security Guard in The Incredible Hulk. It could be that he is unhappy that Mark Ruffalo has fully taken over on the role and for the fact that he hasn't been asked for input lately. Regardless, he does not like Ruffalo or Avengers: Endgame. Ferrigno's comments were first reported by ComicBook.
