Gangster killed over land dispute: Police

Mahesh also alleged that a gangster named Leelu Dagar was behind the murder. Police said they are yet to find evidence to verify the allegations.

A day after gangster Ashok Rathi (44) was allegedly shot dead by three aides at his home in Sohna’s Alipur, police said the accused fired 11 bullets at him. The post-mortem showed he received injuries to his abdomen, limbs, ear and chest, they added.

Police suspect the accused, Narendra, Rohit Dagar and Salim, killed Rathi over a land dispute. Rathi’s brother Mahesh claimed, “A week ago, Rohit bought property and wanted money from my brother but Ashok wasn’t interested in investing in it. The three would often meet him about the property.”

Mahesh also alleged that a gangster named Leelu Dagar was behind the murder. Police said they are yet to find evidence to verify the allegations.
