Every year Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examinations to recruit clerks for the participating nationalized banks. The IBPS Clerk recruitment examination is conducted in two phases - preliminary and mains. The candidates need to appear for the preliminary examination first and those who qualify become eligible to appear for the mains exam followed by interview and document verification.

The IBPS Clerk 2019 preliminary examination will be held on December 07,08,14 and 21, 2019, while the Mains exam will be conducted on January 19, 2020. This time, the clerk recruitment is being conducted for a total of 12,075 vacancies.
