Mayank Agarwal after his marathon knock : "In terms of mindset, the fear of failure and letting go of it helped me change a lot. After that I got hungry for runs. There have been times where I haven't gotten runs. Everytime I get set, I try to make it a point to convert into a big score. Definitely enjoyed it (about his journey with the Indian team so far).
Playing my first game at Melbourne was something special and having contributed to the team's win and India winning the series down under for the first time was a top feeling. That's the feeling that wants me and everybody else go out there and win tournaments for the team. It is about playing one ball at a time and keep batting as long as possible. He's (Ajinkya Rahane) a senior pro, he's played a lot of Test cricket and kept guiding me throughout. The plan was to get a small partnership and take our time. Be cautious, then it was about building it more and more. I back myself and was watching the ball well and picking it. There is bounce on this wicket and there is full value for shots. I went after anything I felt that was in my arc. We haven't talked about it yet, the way we are going, we are in the driver's set and will try to put them under a lot of pressure."

Magnificent Mayank Agarwal continued his mind-boggling run in the longest format as his scintillating 243 took India to 493/6 against Bangladesh at stumps on Day 2 of the Indore Test. Laced with 28 fours and 8 mammoth sixes, Mayank took the Bangladeshi bowlers to the cleaners as he cracked his second international double ton inside two months. Mayank alongside Ajinkya Rahane (86) stitched a colossal 190-run partnership to take India to a comfortable position after the hosts lost Cheteshwar Pujara (54) and Virat Kohli (0) in quick succession early in the day. Mayank then added 123 runs with Ravindra Jadeja for the fifth wicket to put India in total control. Towards the end of the day, Umesh Yadav and Jadeja threw kitchen sink at the Bangladeshi bowlers to take India close to 500-run mark. India now have a 343-run first innings lead.

Pitch report, Day 2: "The wicket is straw coloured today. I think it is going to be a very good pitch to bat on. The sun beating down on it has eaten up and dried up some of the grass. Some of the foot-marks will come into play on day 3 more than today. These divots are in places but are placed short of a length. But only if you are a quick bowler, you can land on these areas and get something out of it, said Sunil Gavaskar and Murali Kartik.
Pujara (43*) and Mayank (37*) looked good at the crease in the final session on Day 1. The duo will now look to play cautiously in the first hour of the morning session on the second day and from there on capitalize and put India in firm control of the Test.

Umesh Yadav (2/47 in 14.3 overs), Ishant Sharma (2/20 in 12 overs) and Mohammed Shami (3/27 in 13 overs) made life difficult for the visitors who folded up meekly after opting to bat first after winning the toss.
