EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Paige McCormick, an eighth grader at Discovery Middle School in Fargo, won the United States Tennis Association Northern Fall Junior Open last weekend.
Competing in the 14-year-old division, McCormick was the only North Dakotan in the draw and survived a set point in the opening match and three set points in the second round, before winning 24 of the 25 sets in the semifinal and final.
McCormick’s instructors are Oliver Summers and Jerry Caulfield at Courts Plus in Fargo.
