Ant McPartlin returned to I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Sunday night with an edgier look thanks to two new tattoos.

The host, who fronts the ITV show with Declan Donnelly, showcased his new inkings on the series launch programme - an arrow on his right forearm, and a rose design on the left.

Viewers were quick to notice the designs, which were on full display to the cameras when short-sleeved shirt wearing Ant folded his arms.

One posted on: “I’m intrigued by #ants tattoos.”

A second asked: “Have I been blind for the past 19 years or has Ant got 3 new tattoos in the space of a year?”

Another joked: “Ants taken a year out and come back with a load of tattoos like some kind of gap year.”

Others believed they’d worked out the hidden meaning behind the arrow tattoo.

Ant, 43, is back on the reality series after taking a year off from work following a drink driving conviction.

In 2018 Holly Willoughby stepped in to take his place alongside Dec.

It’s not the first time Ant has gone under the needle - last year Ant revealed he’d had the Alcoholics Anonymous symbol tattooed on his wrist, which symbolises his own personal struggles.

Fans were delighted as Ant and Dec reunited for the first episode of the 2019 series, which saw Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright, Nadine Coyle, Roman Kemp and Kate Garraway enter the Australian jungle.

I’m a Celebrity continues tonight from 9pm on ITV.
