I'm A Celebrity host Declan Donnelly had fans worried as he returned to TV screens on Sunday night.

Viewers spotted a large red mark on his arm, sparking concern that it may have been a snake bite.

Fans discussed on social media what the mark could be as he launched the 19th series of the jungle-based reality TV show in Australia.

"How did you hurt your forearm Dec?" asked one fan.

"Is that a snake bite on Dec’s arm?" asked another.

Ant and Dec are back

"Watching #ImACeleb with my mum and all she is concerned about is a cut/ bite on Dec’s arm and keeps going hope he’s okay," said a third.

And another asked: "Is anyone else noticing something red on Dec’s arm or is it just me??"

After the show Dec took to Twitter to explain that he was responsible for the mark, which he had caused by scalding himself while sterilising dummies for his baby daughter Isla.

"Nothing exciting unfortunately. I scalded myself while sterilising Isla’s dummies!" he said.

He replied to a fan who asked him: "Dec- what have you done to your arm? Looks like a nasty injury"

Dec and his co-presenter Ant McParltlin were on top form as they returned to the jungle together.

They opened the show with a jibe at Prince Andrew's much-talked-about BBC Newsnight interview.

Ant explained that the stars in this year's reality show line-up were "sweating" with nerves about heading into the jungle - but Dec quipped that "not everyone can sweat."

The cheeky joke was in reference to the Duke of York's claim that he had a medical condition that meant he couldn't sweat.
