SMU football announces AAC games for next two seasons

The Mustangs will host UCF in 2021.

The AAC released its scheduling matrix for the 2020 and 2021 seasons on Monday afternoon. The main takeaway is that every team will face every team at least once during the next two years. Six of the 10 opponents will be faced twice.

SMU will host Navy, Memphis, Cincinnati and Houston in 2020. The Mustangs will travel to Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and ECU. They will not face USF or UCF.

The changes in the matrix were due to UConn leaving the conference after this season. The AAC received a waiver to keep its championship game despite having only 11 members. That waiver expires after the 2021 season. So unless another wavier is granted, this matrix will only exist for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
