Here are your morning rugby headlines on Tuesday, November 19.

Wales name squad

Wayne Pivac will name his first Wales squad later this morning as he reveals who's been called up to face the Barbarians on November 30.

Pivac's announcement is expected around 11am, with a number of new faces and players frozen out by previous coach Warren Gatland potentially in the mix for selection.

Wales will be without all of their English-based players and have a number of injuries to contend with.

The Wales Six Nations injury toll

It's emerged Wales will now be without four first-choice players for the Six Nations.

Tomas Francis is the latest to be ruled out the tournament after suffering a shoulder injury in the Rugby World Cup semi-final against South Africa.

He'll be sidelined for four months, joining Jonathan Davies (knee), Rhys Patchell (shoulder) and Gareth Anscombe (knee) in probably missing the whole tournament.

Gatland collides with English

Warren Gatland has pleaded with English Premiership Rugby clubs to move their 2021 final or risk the Lions' chances of victory in South Africa.

Gatland fears the same nightmare schedule that was thrust upon the Lions in New Zealand two years ago will be repeated if the English don't budge on their stance.

The English Grand Final is currently scheduled for June 26 - just a week before the Lions' first match. Gatland would like it to be played the week before.

"They have said they are not moving their final which I find very disappointing," he told MailOnline

"In fairness to the Pro14 they have moved theirs a week earlier. If PRL did that it would be fantastic. We are still negotiating with them. It would help us so much in the planning and preparation. I am saying to the clubs and PRL, embrace the Lions. You are going to play the world champions now.

"I want to say to them that there's an opportunity for players to go on a Lions tour and come back as superstars. With the interest that the Lions creates, the viewers it gets, if someone goes out there as an unknown or comes from a club side and becomes a superstar, how brilliant is that for the clubs?

"They can promote someone who has been on the Lions, they can sell more tickets and then kids what to watch them play and all sorts.

"I think we're just missing a trick here. I cannot understand why PRL would not want to be more positive about doing more to help the Lions and embrace it."

Shane urges Wales to pick Sheedy

Shane Williams is urging new Wales coach Wayne Pivac to bring Callum Sheedy into his Six Nations set-up to keep the exciting Bristol Bears No.10 out of the clutches of rivals England and Ireland.

The Cardiff-born 24-year-old has been a pivotal figure in big-spending Bears' rise to the top of the Gallagher Premiership table this term.

Despite playing for England in the summer against the Barbarians in a non-capped international, Sheedy remains eligible for Wales through birth and Ireland having an Irish father.

Shane  wrote in his Rugby Paper column:  "I think he has to be looked at for the Six Nations. He has had an impressive start to the season.

"You would imagine barring injury Dan Biggar will be the first-choice fly-half for Wales in 2020 and that would be quite right as I thought he had an excellent World Cup.

"But with Gareth Anscombe a long-term absentee and Rhys Patchell a Six Nations doubt, I'd like to see Sheedy get a first international call up next year. He deserves one in my opinion."

Dai backs Haskell in the jungle

Welsh coach Dai Young is backing his former player James Haskell to go all the way on I'm a Celebrity.

Young coached Haskell at Wasps and says he'll be tuning in every night to follow one of rugby's more colourful characters on ITV's hit show.

"I am not an avid fan of it but I won't miss an episode with James in it," he told Coventry Live.

"He will do very well. He's very competitive, we will have a few laughs with him. he's a real character as we know. I won't be surprised if he goes all the way. He's a likeable guy, a real character and he will certainly be entertaining watching that's for sure.

"Let's hope everyone at Wasps, past and present, get right behind him and keep him in it right until the end.

"I think he will be disappointed if he's not at the centre of the show and not taking part in a lot of the things.

"I am looking forward to it, I am certainly not going to miss any of it, I've not watched it before but I am not going to miss any of it with James on it."
