Manchester City have enjoyed a trophy laden spell from 2010 to 2020, establishing themselves as one of the best teams in world football.

In that time frame, four managers have held the reigns and plenty of players have come and gone.

As part of MEN Sport's end of the decade series, we pick out the top ten players who have helped shape City in the last ten years.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling of Manchester City.

Arriving from Liverpool for £50million, Raheem Sterling had a huge weight of expectations on his shoulders. However, under Pep Guardiola, the winger has established himself as one of the best players in the world, not just England.

Sterling has lifted two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two Carabao Cup trophies as well as scooping the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2019.

Now a key player for both club and country, the 24-year-old is still getting better and continues to improve under Guardiola's tutelage. Adding a Champions League trophy to the cabinet will be next on his agenda.

David Silva

David Silva of Manchester City.

Marking the start of the decade was the arrival of David Silva from Valencia. Ten years later, he will depart a Manchester City legend.

The Spaniard has been the brains of the club ever since he arrived in England, an integral part of every team under four different managers. Silva's performance levels and consistency is frightening - he's made at least 40 appearances in every season of his Man City career.

It's hard to find words to describe his genius. Silva will be remembered as one of the best players to ever grace the Premier League.

Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.

Deemed not good enough by Chelsea, Kevin De Bruyne joined Manchester City with a point to prove. And prove it he did. The Belgian is recognised not only as one of the best playmakers in England, but one of the best players in world football.

De Bruyne was a key part of the Man City team that became the first Premier League side to attain 100 points in a single season, scoring eight goals and registering 16 assists.

The former Wolfsburg man has already collected nine league assists in just 11 appearances this season and could be the man to break Thierry Henry's Premier League assist record.

Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.

Sergio Aguero's Man City debut in 2011 was a sign of things to come. The Argentine netted twice and picked up an assist in just 30 minutes against Swansea after leaving the bench.

Since then, the forward has become the club's highest ever goal scorer and the highest ever non-European scorer in the history of the Premier League. His goals include the iconic title-winning effort against Queens Park Rangers as well as memorable strikes against the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

He will be in the conversation as the greatest striker to have ever played in England alongside the likes of Henry and Alan Shearer.

Vincent Kompany

Vincent Kompany of Manchester City.

Signed in the summer of 2008, Vincent Kompany revolutionised the Manchester City team. He quickly established himself as a key member of the starting XI and a leader in the dressing room. He was handed the club captaincy in 2011 lifting the club's first ever Premier League title in the same season.

City fans will never forget his contributions and the Belgian left on a perfect note, firing a 25 yard screamer into the top corner against Leicester to hand his side three points that would ultimately secure them another title in his final season, ahead of Liverpool.

Pictured singing with Man City fans in a local pub, setting up a charity to help the homeless in Manchester and a player who left everything on the pitch - Kompany is truly a living legend.

Yaya Toure

Yaya Toure of Manchester City.

On his day, Yaya Toure was simply unstoppable. The powerful Ivorian arrived from Barcelona as a true winner. His performances in the heart of midfield were breathtaking at times. Toure was crucial in his debut season, ending City's 35-year wait for a major trophy by scoring in the FA Cup final against Stoke.

The midfielder picked up the club's Player of the Year award in 2014 after scoring 20 league goals - becoming only the second midfielder in Premier League history to reach such a total - as well as registering nine assists.

Without a doubt a world-class calibre midfielder who enjoyed the finest years of his career in blue.

Fernandinho

Fernandinho of Manchester City.

Fernandinho may not have grabbed the headlines in the same way Toure did, but his influence on the field remains the same. A mainstay in the City engine room since signing from Shahktar Donetsk, his impact on City's recent success shouldn't be undervalued.

A tough tackling, no nonsense midfielder - his role in the team allows players like Silva and De Bruyne to flourish ahead of him. Fernandinho often does the job of two players and does it without breaking a sweat.

One of the club's most lovable players, City wouldn't be where they are today without him.

Pablo Zabaleta

Pablo Zabaleta of Manchester City.

Another mainstay in the Man City team, Pablo Zabaleta spent almost a decade at the club after joining from Espanyol. He made the right-back position his own, racking up over 300 appearances and winning every domestic trophy on offer in England.

His passion for the badge quickly made him a cult hero among Man City supporters. Zabaleta gave his all for the club and his excellent performances made him one of the first names on the team sheet.

He left the club for West Ham in 2015 and later reunited with former City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Ederson

Ederson of Manchester City.

The signing of Ederson from Benfica in 2016 may go down as one of the City's most astute purchases. The Brazilian is perfect for Guardiola's system, showcasing ridiculous distribution skills. His ability with the ball at his feet makes him one of a kind.

His arrival on Eastlands completely transformed the way City play. He is also a fantastic shot stopper and has saved City on countless occasions during his spell with the club.

The £36m paid to lure him from Portugal already looks like a bargain.

Carlos Tevez

Ederson has transformed the current Man City team but it was Carlos Tevez who paved the way at the start of the decade. Signed under the nose of Sir Alex Ferguson, Tevez scored goals for fun and his arrival was a statement of intent to all of City's Premier League rivals.

His off-field antics may have stained his time at the club, but no one can deny his ability on the pitch.

Tevez ended his City career with 73 goals in 148 appearances and one Premier League winners medal.
