KOLKATA: A sergeant posted at Metiabruz traffic guard alleged that a biker had abused and pushed him when he was busy clearing jam near Metiabruz police station on Akra Road around 3.30pm on Sunday. The sergeant, Sourjya Shankar Pal, stopped the accused, Md Amin (48), a resident of Dewan Bagan in Metiabruz, from overtaking a vehicle dangerously. The miffed Amin got into an altercation with Pal and pushed him.
He was arrested following the complaint of the sergeant.
“The accused was stuck in jam while coming back home. The sergeant posted in the area stopped him as he was trying to overtake a vehicle dangerously. riding back home when he got caught in the jam. He was though restrained by sergeant from overtaking dangerously. This led the accused to get into an altercation with the sergeant who was attacked. Pal was clearing traffic congestion after a political meeting held at the crossing of Akra Road and Garden Reach Road,” said a police officer.
