PUNE: About 15 students and two teachers from Haiderbeg town in Jammu and Kashmir visited various military establishments in the city from November 16 to 20.
The visit is being considered as a capacity-building tour under the Indian Army’s “Operation Sadbhavana” scheme.
“It facilitates promoting the spirit of unity in diversity, thereby connecting them with the economic development and progress of the nation,” read a statement issued by Southern Command.

The students, pursuing a course in screen acting, visited the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla dam, Institute of National Integration, National War memorial and the Film and Television Institute of India.
“The students got first-hand knowledge on acting and film-making at FTII. They also interacted with Brigadier Pradeep Chauhan, Commander Shivneri Brigade, on November 19. The students were enthralled and grateful to the Army for having given them an opportunity to gain first-hand experience at FTII and understood the advantages that accrue out of economic development and peaceful co-existence,” the statement added.
