With the days becoming shorter and temperatures dropping, an evening at the cinema sounds pretty dreamy.

Whether it's a cheesy rom-com like Last Christmas or an intense thriller like The Joker, there's nothing quite like grabbing some popcorn and sitting back in your cinema seat.

Now, Google has made it even easier for people with Android smartphones to book cinema tickets, thanks to a new Google Assistant feature.

Google explained: “With the Google Assistant coming to Chrome, you can use your Android phone to quickly and easily book movie tickets - just in time for the box office hits set to be released this Christmas.”

Here’s how the new feature works and how you can use it book cinema tickets.

How the feature works

To access the cinema-booking feature, simply say ‘Hey Google, show times for [film] in [location] this weekend’.

You’ll be able to select a time and cinema nearby that works best for you in the Chrome app. Your Assistant will then guide you through buying your ticket.

Google added: “Thanks to Duplex technology, the Assistant will be able to navigate the site and automatically input your information, like payment information saved in Chrome.”
