I-T raids alert Tollywood!

Production houses across the film industry do not want to take any chances with the I-T department.

After Income Tax officials suddenly raided some prominent Telugu film offices on Wednesday, several other production houses have gone on high alert. A source informs that production houses like Geetha Arts owned by Allu Aravind, Sri Venkateswara Creations owned by Dil Raju, Annapurna Studios owned by Nagarjuna and Mythri Movie Makers have all instructed their staff to maintain proper records.

“They know that I-T officials can land up at any time at their offices too, so they have asked their staff to keep everything ready,” says a source.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear if Wednesday’s raids threw up anything substantial. “Most people maintain their accounts online and nothing may show up under scrutiny,” says the source, who adds that I-T officials are keen to check the accounts of all the big production houses at least once a year.
