Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Carmarthenshire.

The collision happened at around 5.15pm on the westbound stretch of the A40 between Carmarthen and St Clears.

A boxer punched a pool player after his friend paid him to do it and left the man with a broken nose and eye socket.

Yassin Essa, who previously competed at the Commonwealth Games, said he agreed to punch the victim for money because he needed cash to buy drugs.

Doctor suspended after 'dishonest entry' on medical records of tragic 12-year-old Ryan Morse

A doctor who made a dishonest entry in the medical notes of a 12-year-old boy who died days earlier has been suspended for nine months.

Ryan Morse died at his home in Brynithel, Blaenau Gwent , in December 2012 from undiagnosed Addison’s disease, a rare condition, after a phone conversation between his concerned mother and family GP Dr Joanne Rudling the day before.

Woodfield Street is closed in both directions due to the Christmas Parade that’s taking place between Pentrepoeth Road and Morfydd Street.

Nathan Delafontaine, Raymond Thompson, Leon Clifford, Lewis Evans, Leon Symons, Ryan Palmer, Peter McCarthy, and a 16-year-old boy all entered not guilty pleas.

Conservatives beat Labour in Llanishen by-election

The Conservatives have beaten Labour in a Cardiff Council by-election three weeks before the General Election.

Conservative candidate Siân-Elin Melbourne has been elected in Llanishen in a vote that was triggered when former Labour councillor Phil Bale announced he was standing down.

There are already three Conservative councillors in that ward; Shaun Jenkins, John Lancaster and Thomas Parkhill. The result means the Conservatives now hold all four seats in the Llanishen ward.

Major crash shuts key Flintshire route

A serious crash has shut a stretch of road in Flintshire.

Police have shut Holywell Road in Ewloe the petrol station just off the A494 and the Northop Hall roundabout, close to the A55.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

NorthWalesLive said the road has now been closed for around 12 hours and remains so this morning.
