Thieves break into liquor store, but what they stole wasn't alcohol
Someone broke into a Louisville liquor store Friday morning, but they didn't take any alcohol.
Instead, they stole a case full of scratch-off lottery tickets.
The burglary happened around 5:10 a.m. at the Next Door Spirit Shoppe in the 3300 block of Newburg Road.
Owner Steve Abrams knows that's when it happened because someone cut the power off, turning off his security cameras, at that time.
The thief, or thieves, threw a brick threw his front door to gain entry, he said.
They may have thought there was bound to be a winner among all of those tickets, but stolen tickets cannot be redeemed, Abrams said.
"Obviously, they weren't the brightest bunch in the world," he said.
