Day five of the interactive session at the International Film Festival of India ended with a session on ‘The Emerging Filmmakers of India’, which featured
Aditya Dhar and Malayalam filmmaker Manu Ashokan. What’s common between them is their directorial debuts, '
Uri: The Surgical Strike' and 'Uyare' hit a chord with the audience and raked in great numbers.
And, a great performance at the box office often results in huge expectations and pressure.
Talking about how he deals with the pressure, Aditya said, “I enjoy the pressure, as it keeps you on your toes all the time. It also pushes you to give your 100 per cent to an extent that you can’t take it easy.”
Aditya also attributed his ability to handle pressure to his sports background. He added, “Apart from theatre and music, I was also into sports a lot and it teaches you how to cope with pressure. So, I can tell you that I am enjoying this phase. When anyone asks me whether I am feeling the pressure (following the success of his directorial debut), I tell them, ‘Yes, I am feeling it, but I am also enjoying it as it’s pushing me to create something extraordinary’.”
