Bihar: CM Nitish Kumar inspects three roads in Nalanda district

PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inspected ongoing works on three major roads in Nalanda district while on way to Rajgir to inaugurate Rajgir Mahotsav.
The roads which were inspected are the Fatuha-Daniyawa-Harnaut-Barh National Highway-30A, the Bihta-Sarmera State Highway No-78 and the Telmar-Salepur- Noorsarai-Silao-Rajgir four-lane highway.
While inspecting NH-30A, the chief minister asked the state’s road construction department’s (RCD) principal secretary Amrit Lal Meena to build a bypass road from north-east side of Nagarnausa town to ease traffic congestion from the block headquarters.
Meena and the state’s transport secretary-cum- Bihar state road development corporation’s managing director-cum-divisional commissioner (Patna) Sanjay Kumar Agarwal were accompanying Nitish during the inspection.
Kumar also ordered for construction of an underpass on the crossroad of NH-30 and SH-78 at Jaintipur Mor near Chandi town so that people do not face difficulties in crossing the two roads.
The CM further asked the RCD officials to expedite work on the Telmar-Salepur-Noorsarai-Silao-Rajgir four-lane highway which would become an alternative road to go to Rajgir from Patna.
"The total length of the Telmar-Salepur-Noorsarai-Silao-Rajgir four-lane highway is 75km. Once this highway is completed, the road distance between Rajgir and Patna will be reduced to 85km. It will be turn out as the "shortest and fastest" connectivity from Rajgir to Patna airport which can be covered in one-and-a-half-hour," an RCD official told TOI.
The secretary to the chief minister, Anupam Kumar and the OSD in the CM office Gopal Singh also accompanied Kumar during the inspection of roads.
