Bihar: Internet services snapped in Kaimur

Internet services have been snapped in Kaimur district in the wake of violent protest by a group of people against the gang rape of a 17-year-old schoolgirl. Two of the four accused were arrested on Monday. Raids were being conducted to nab the two other accused.

PATNA: Internet services have been snapped in Kaimur district in the wake of violent protest by a group of people against the gang rape of a 17-year-old schoolgirl. Two of the four accused were arrested on Monday. Raids were being conducted to nab the two other accused.
The police staged flag march in the sensitive localities of Mohania after the protesters set several houses and shops on fire and ransacked other business establishments on Monday.
They demanded immediate arrest of the four culprits involved in the crime.
Kaimur SP Dilnawaz Ahmed said a peace committee meeting was held and majority of the shops and business establishments remained open on Tuesday.
He said separate FIRs have been lodged in connection with the Monday violence. The Class X student was gang-raped by four youths in a moving car on November 15. However, a video of the crime went viral on social media on Sunday, prompting police to lodge a complaint. The SUV used in the crime was also seized by the police. An FSL team also collected evidences from the seized car.
