HYDERABAD: A sentimental letter written by an RTC conductor decrying the “dictatorial” ways of the TRS government under chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has gone viral on social media.
In the no-holds-barred open resignation letter, L Krishna of Suryapet depot hit out at the government which he claimed had lured the people into fighting for a separate state by making hollow promises.
The clearly distraught conductor said several people were committing suicide out of helplessness and many were being arrested for raising their voice in Telangana. “I can no longer work with self-respect in the RTC,” he wrote and demanded that the state, which was responsible for his situation, give him a 2BHK under its housing scheme, provide pension to his ageing parents and also give him another job.
“Sir, the people of RTC lived a life of dignity with just Rs 15,000 pay a month. If you had agreed to hear us out, we would have given you our lives,” he said. Krishna said he wanted a job that would let him keep his self respect and that he curses his fate for having been born in Telangana.
“Over 1,200 people laid their lives down for the separation of Telangana believing that KCR would take care of us. Now we know that the new state is only for leaders of your like,” he said.
