SASARAM: A fortnight after the sensational gang rape of a minor girl in a moving car at Mohania in Kaimur district, another 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a youth and his maternal uncle at a village under the Ramgarh police station area in the district on Thursday.
The two accused allegedly took turns to rape the girl when she was alone in her house as her parents had gone to an agricultural field, police said on Saturday.
A complaint was later lodged at Ramgarh police station in the district in connection with the incident.
Police arrested the accused youth, Guddan Ram alias Bablu, on Saturday and claimed that searches were on to nab his maternal uncle, Guddu Ram.
After her medical examination at Bhabhua sadar hospital, the girl recorded her statement in the court under Section 164 of CrPC on Saturday.
SHO of Ramgarh police station Rajeeev Ranjan said the girl alleged in her FIR that Guddan and his maternal uncle stormed into her house and closed the door from inside before raping her. “After committing the crime, the duo threatened the girl with dire consequences if she reported the matter to police. However, the girl narrated the incident to her parents after they returned home. Later, an FIR was lodged against the two accused,” the SHO added.

He said a woman officer of Bhabhua Mahila police was made investigating officer of the case as the Ramgarh police station has no woman officer.
Meanwhile, internet services remained suspended for the fifth consecutive day at Mohania, which witnessed large-scale violence after the video of the gang rape of a minor girl in a moving car went viral. Section 144 of CrPC is still in force in the town. Altogether 23 people have so far been arrested in connection with the violence in the town, in which two people had sustained bullet injuries.
Police have already arrested the four accused and submitted chargesheet against them. “The investigating officer has prayed before the court to list the case for speedy trial,” a senior IPS officer posted at the state police headquarters said.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
