    Air quality poor again, may dip further

    The air quality in the national capital turned poor again on Sunday, primarily due to slow wind speed, and is likely to dip further. The wind speed has been fluctuating between six and 10 kilometers per hour for the last two to three days. It may reduce further by Wednesday, leading to an increase in pollution levels, experts said. The air quality index of the national capital read 250 at 4 pm on Sunday, up from Saturday's 193.

     A biker was killed after being hit by a truck in Pure Himachal village in Fursatganj area on Sunday, police said. Vipul, 19, died on the spot, they said.

    Six people, including the driver of an ambulance carrying them, were killed when the vehicle collided with a truck in Nepal's Sunsari district, police said.
    The incident occurred on Saturday at Haripur area when the ambulance was ferrying the body of one Shiva Maya, who died during treatment at a hospital in Biratnagar, to his home at Gaighat town in Udayapur district.

    Three minors killed in road accident in Delhi

    Three minors, who were speeding on a scooter without wearing helmets, met with a fatal accident after their vehicle rammed into a pole near Delhi Gate area here, police said on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Saad, Osama and Hamja, they said.

    According to police, the three juveniles were not wearing helmets and riding the scooter at a high speed when the accident took place on Saturday night.

    All three persons sustained head injuries and were declared brought dead when taken to a nearby hospital, a senior police officer said.

    The impact of the accident was such that their scooter was flung at least 25 ft away from the accident spot while their bodies were found near the pole, he said.

    The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, he added.

    Six people were killed while five others were injured after an oil-tanker and a private bus collided head-on near the NTPC crossing in Farakkah in Murshidabad district on Saturday, the police said.

    The injured, some of them in serious conditions, were admitted to the Jangipur sub-divisional hospital.
