Uttar Pradesh: Four men booked for gang-raping 17-year-old girl in Kasganj

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four youths in Kasganj district on Sunday.

AGRA: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four youths in Kasganj district on Sunday.
The incident took place in Sujanpur village under Sidpura police jurisdiction at around 9pm when the girl was on her way to farm field to relieve herself.
By 1.41am on Monday, local police lodged an FIR against the four accused based on a written complaint filed by the girl’s father.

The accused were identified as Ghanshyam Shakya, Suresh Shakya, Pushpender Shakya and Ankit. All four were booked under IPC section 376 D (gang rape), POCSO and ST/SC Act. Local police are conducting raids to arrest the absconding accused.
Meanwhile, the girl, eldest among five siblings, was sent to the district hospital for medical examination.
Speaking to TOI, Rahul Kumar Singh, gram pradhan of Ajitnagar, who helped victim’s father to lodge the FIR said, “After the incident, the girl is in deep trauma and bed-ridden. She has been shifted to local hospital.”
“At the time of incident, villagers and girl’s family had gone to attend a wedding ceremony,” said Rahul, a local leader.

“I was attending a marriage function when four youths abducted my daughter while she was heading to farm field. They took her in a eucalyptus garden where they raped her. Bleeding profusely, she walked home and narrated her ordeal before collapsing in my arms,” said girl's father, a labourer.
“I immediately made a distress call to police and took her to hospital,” he said.
Sunil Kumar, gram pradhan of Sujanpur said, “The girl was raped some 100 metre away from home. Police have detained few relatives of the named youths in FIR in order pressurise them to surrender before police.”
“Our women constable have interacted with the girl and she narrated the entire sequence of event. A manhunt has been initiated to arrest the accused, while the teeanger has been sent for medical examination,” Sidpura SHO Rajkumar Singh said.
