Man with wife, daughter found dead in Nalanda

BIHARSHARIF: A man, his pregnant wife and their 3-year-old daughter were found dead in Nalanda on Tuesday morning.
Their bodies were recovered from a pond at Masiadih village under Bind police station area in Nalanda district. The victims were identified as Sunny Yadav of Harnaut, his wife Mintu Devi and daughter Rajnandini. Police sources said the bodies of Mintu and Rajnandini were recovered first.There were strangulation marks around their necks and a gash on Mintu’s head, indicating that the woman and her daughter were strangled. Police suspect their bodies were dumped in the pond last night.
Mintu with daughter mostly stayed at her father Surinder Yadav’s house at Masiadih. On Monday, Sunny visited Masiadih and took his wife to a doctor for routine medical check-up. Their daughter also accompanied them. However, when they did not return home in the night, the family members tried to contact them on their cellphones, which were found switched off.
Villagers found their bodies in the pond on Tuesday morning. A police officer said prima facie it appeared that the miscreants killed them before looting the valuables. However, he did not rule out the possibility of old enmity as the reason behind their murder. However, Surinder said they had no enmity with anyone in the village.
Bind police station SHO Rakesh Kumar, who retrieved the bodies from the pond and sent them to Biharsharif sadar hospital for postmortem, said the actual cause of their death would be known only after receiving the autopsy report.
