AGRA: An FIR was lodged against a 40-year-old man in Agra district for molesting a class XI student.
The accused, identified as Hiralal Tyagi, is a resident of Gopalpur village under Pindaura police jurisdiction. He was booked on a written complaint by the victim’s mother. He has been booked under IPC Sections 354A (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) and POCSO act.

The FIR of the victim read, “After returning from school on November 27 at around 4pm, she was preparing dinner in kitchen. She was alone, as her parents were out, and younger sister had gone to coaching class when her neighbour Hiralal Tyagi, who was heavily inebriated, barged inside her house with a country-made pistol and attempted to rape her. He tore the victim’s clothes and slapped her several times.”
Speaking to TOI, the victim’s uncle said, “Hiralal groped the victim from behind and forced himself on her. Somehow, the girl saved herself and shouted for help. This made Hiralal to flee. But before leaving, he threatened the girl to rape on her way to school, after which the girl stayed in home for several days and only returned to school on Wednesday on the assurance of local administration.”
Talking to TOI, Udal Singh, station house officer of Pindaura said, “On November 28 morning, the girl and her father came with written complaint that their belongings and cash of Rs 40,000 was robbed by their neighbour. Later, when police reached their home, the girl family gave written complaint of assault and criminal intimidation. But on December 3, the family claimed, that accused Hiralal had attempted to molest the girl, therefore, IPC 354(A) was added in the earlier FIR of assault against the accused.”

“The case is being probed thoroughly,” he added.
It's important to note that girl and her family had earlier marked their written complaint's copy to PMO, chief minister office UP and DM Agra, alleging that local police was ignoring the rape threat by the accused and was not charging the accused for molestation.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
