SIT formed as no breakthrough in Buxar murder case
PATNA: A special investigation team (SIT) was formed on Wednesday to crack the case as police failed to make headway in the sensational case of rape and murder of a woman, whose charred body was found on the outskirts of Kukudha village under Itadhi police station area in Buxar district on Tuesday.
Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma told TOI over phone on Wednesday that DSP (sadar) Satish Kumar will lead the SIT.

“The identity of the deceased was still not ascertained. Also, no clue has been received so far about those who had killed the woman,” he said.
The SP said the doctors in the postmortem report submitted on Wednesday reserved their opinion whether the victim had been raped before being killed. “They are relying on the forensic experts whose report would be received later,” he said.
Verma said it was clear that the bullet injury she had received in her head caused her death. “The bullet had pierced through the woman’s temple,” he said. The SP said they were in touch with their counterparts in neighbouring Kaimur district to identify the victim.
