NASHIK: Officials from the district election office on Thursday said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has sought feedback from the voters about the condition of polling stations across the district.
The ECI has launched a special drive — Electors Verification Programme (EVP) — through which the officials have been asked to visit every voter’s house and gather data of the people born between January 2, 2002, and January 1, 2003.
The officials have also been asked to ensure that the eligible voters completing 18 years of age by January 1, 2002, have been enrolled in the electoral roll.
“Apart from this activity, as part of the summary electoral roll revision programme, the ECI has taken the initiative to interact directly with the voters and seek feedback on the polling stations. The mode of communication is mobile application, the nvsp.in website and emails,” a senior officer from the election office said.
The ECI will conduct a video conference and ask officers at different levels to cross verify if the minimum assured facilities (MAF) – including toilet blocks, drinking water, first aid, ramps at schools etc. — were available at the polling stations. “Now, the voters can congratulate the ECI for providing all the facilities or even raise the issues about shortcomings at the election centres. The ECI will take into consideration the feedback of the voters and take appropriate measures for resolution of the same,” the officer said.
