Hassan: Man uploads girl's morphed photos, held

HASSAN: Nearly seven months after a complaint was registered, cyberpolice in Hassan arrested one of the miscreants who uploaded morphed photographs of unsuspecting girls on websites and later blackmailed them.
Police said Prashanth Rajashekhar Maaya, 24, from Kadevu village in Indi taluk of Vijayapura and a driver, was arrested on Thursday.
In April, a girl from Hassan lodged a complaint claiming that someone had threatened her that he would post her fake nude photos on social media if she wouldn't pay him.As per an FIR filed on April 7, the girl received a message on her phone regarding her fake photos from the accused's friend.
The friend claimed she got a similar call from someone but later she got the morphed photos removed by sending her nude video and some money. The girl also sent her nude video and Rs17,000. She approached police after Maaya demanded Rs 50,000.
