Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Barbara Asher Ayisi, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being hypocritical with issues of national interest.

According to the Minister, the NDC’s take on national issues is to only achieve its political ambitions and not aimed at fighting for the collective interest of Ghanaians.

Her comment comes on the back of the NDC’s claim of ‘vindication and victory’ for the cancellation of the December 17 referendum by President Nana Akufo-Addo, in a televised address to the nation on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Barbara Ayisi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, wondered why the NDC opposed the referendum when they were initially in support of it.

“The NDC is always playing politics with national issues, they are always behaving hypocritical with issues of natural interest. Instead of agreeing to such issues they rather make sudden u-turns and make mockery of the issues,” she said.

She also revealed that the Minority in Parliament was fully in support of the introduction of the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education and even had some interesting ideas for the programme, but made a sudden u-turn on the programme because of politics.
