Railways to reduce frequency of 38 trains from December 16

The railways has reduced the frequency of at least 38 mail and express trains either originating from or passing through the Danapur, Mughalsarai, Dhanbad, Sonepur and Samastipur divisions of East Central Railway (ECR) due to the foggy weather conditions which might affect the Howrah-Patna-Pt Deendayal Upadhaya Junction-Allahabad-Kanpur-Tundala Junction mainline route from December 16 to January 31 next year.

PATNA: The railways has reduced the frequency of at least 38 mail and express trains either originating from or passing through the Danapur, Mughalsarai, Dhanbad, Sonepur and Samastipur divisions of East Central Railway (ECR) due to the foggy weather conditions which might affect the Howrah-Patna-Pt Deendayal Upadhaya Junction-Allahabad-Kanpur-Tundala Junction mainline route from December 16 to January 31 next year.

ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar told this newspaper on Friday that while the Patna-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express (12023/12024) will be cancelled on Thursdays, Patna-Ranchi Jan Shatabdi Express (12365/12366) will not run on Fridays. “The Rajendra Nagar Terminal-New Delhi Sampoorna Kranti Express (12393/12394) will not run on Wednesdays from here. The train will also be cancelled on Thursdays from New Delhi,” the CPRO said.
Similarly, the Patna-Kota Express (13239/13240) will not run on Fridays from Patna and Saturdays from Kota. The Gaya-New Delhi Mahabodhi Express (12397/12398) will be cancelled on Mondays from Gaya and Tuesdays from New Delhi.
“The Jaynagar-New Delhi Swatantrata Senani Express (12561/12562) will not run on Thursdays and Fridays from New Delhi, while the Barauni-Lucknow Express (15203/15204) will not run on Tuesdays from Barauni and Wednesdays from New Delhi,” he said, adding the Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express (15211/15212) will be cancelled on Wednesdays from Darbhanga and Fridays from Amritsar, while the Dhanbad-Ferozpur Cantt Ganga Sutlej Express 13307/13308) will not run on Thursdays from Dhanbad and Saturdays from Ferozpur Cantonment.
Likewise, the Raxaul-Anand Vihar Satyagraha Express (15273/15274) will not run on Thursdays from Raxaul and Fridays from Anand Vihar. Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Sapt Kranti Express (12557/12558) will also be cancelled on Wednesdays from Muzaffarpur and Thursdays from Anand Vihar.
“While the Danapur-Anand Vihar Jan Sadharan Express (13257/13258) will not run on Thursdays from Danapur and Fridays from Anand Vihar, the Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Garib Rath (22405) will not run on Thursdays from Bhagalpur and Wednesdays from Anand Vihar. The Kamakhya-Anand Vihar North East Express (12505/12506) will not run on Wednesdays from Kamakhya and Fridays from Anand Vihar,” the CPRO said and added, the New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi Express (12523/12524) will not run on Tuesdays from New Jalpaiguri and Wednesdays from New Delhi, while the Katihar-Delhi Champaran Humsafar Express (15705/15706) will be cancelled on Thursdays from Katihar and Fridays from New Delhi.

The CPRO said the frequency of Howrah-Amritsar Express (130005/13006), Sealdah-Ajmer Express (12987/12988) and Howrah-Ganganagar Udyan Abha Toofan Express (13007/13008) has been reduced by three to four days.
12 trains cancelled: The East Central Railway (ECR) has cancelled at least 12 mail and express trains from December 16 to January 31, 2020 due to the likely foggy weather conditions.
According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the cancelled trains are Hatia-Anand Vihar Express, New Delhi-Malda Town Express, Jhansi-Kolkata Express, Varanasi-Singrauli Express, Chopan-Shaktinagar Express and Santragachi Express. “The railways has also diverted the routes of eight other passenger trains,” the CPRO said.
