Pune: Fifty-nine students from the economically weaker sections, studying agriculture courses across the state, were awarded scholarships on Sunday.
Finolex Industries, in association with the Mukul Madhav Foundation, released the financial aid — the Late Mohini Pralhad Chhabria Scholarship — to students of agriculture institutes in Pune, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Nandurbar, Karad and Dhule.

The recipients included 36 undergraduate students, 20 postgraduate students and three PhD scholars.
Among the awardees were 12 students of College of Agriculture, affiliated to Mahatma Phule Agriculture University (MPAU), who received Rs50,000 each. “They should take full advantage of the scholarship. Students can also avail themselves of the university’s junior and senior research fellow schemes,” MPAU vice-chancellor K P Vishwanatha said.
