HYDERABAD: The mother of a 19-year-old Inter student who was raped and murdered in Hanamkonda on the same day Disha was killed near Hyderabad has demanded justice for her daughter.
She said her daughter was raped and killed on November 27, the same day Disha was gangraped, killed and her body burnt near a toll plaza. The woman, whose dharna at Ekasila Park in Warangal entered the fifth day on Tuesday, said she tried to meet governor Tamilisai Soundararajan when she visited Warangal on Monday to represent her agony.

“We were not allowed but asked to go to Hyderabad to meet her. How is it possible for poor people like us to go around seeking justice,” she questioned. She wept while repeating that her child was killed on her birthday.
She said though two youths committed the heinous crime, only one of the accused was arrested.
The girl left the house in the morning telling the family that she was going to a temple. At 10 pm, her body was found dumped near a function hall in Nandi Hills Colony close to where the girl resided at Deendayal Nagar Colony. The girl’s brother said while police had cracked the Shamshabad case and killed the four suspects in an encounter, the same interest is not being shown in his sister’s rape case.
“The other culprits should be arrested and they should be hanged,” he said. He said police indifference was clearly visible because they hail from a poor family and that they do not belong to an upper caste which Disha belonged to. He said his father is a vegetable vendor.
The minor girl’s father was rushed to Hyderabad from Hanamkonda owing to a health condition.
Police personnel , who claimed to have made a breakthrough, said a degree final year student in Hanamkonda was the culprit.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
