It's been a bad week for Man City and things have only been made worse by yet more injury set backs.

Pep Guardiola hasn't been able to pick from a full strength squad all season and it's clear that City's injury woes have had a negative impact on the side.

While there has been some minor respite with Aleks Zinchenko's return to the first team for the Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb, two more names have joined the injury list.

Here's the latest on the Blues' five injured players and when it is hoped they will be back in action:

John Stones

It's been a torrid season for Stones and he has been hit with yet another injury just after he had established himself in the side again.

The centre-back limped off with his head stooped in disappointment against United and it now appears that he will have yet another lay off.

What Pep Guardiola said: “It’s a few weeks. We have two defenders and Eric.”

Potential return date: N/A

David Silva

Despite playing the whole 90 minutes on Saturday, Silva has also picked up an injury and hasn't travelled to Croatia.

Although, it doesn't appear that the injury is too serious and that he is being rested as a precaution. Hopefully he can be back involved at the weekend.

What Pep Guardiola said: "David had a huge kick in a dangerous part of his leg and he’s not risked."

Potential return date: December 15

Sergio Aguero

Aguero has missed the last four games after limping off with a thigh injury in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea towards the end of November.

City have struggled in the Argentine's absence and have only managed to win once, against Burnley, with draws against Shakhtar Donetsk and Newcastle United coming before a defeat to Manchester United.

The only time frame that Guardiola gave on Aguero's return was that he would be missing the Manchester derby, but it looks like he will continue to be unavailable after he didn't make the trip to Croatia on Wednesday.

What Pep Guardiola said: "Sergio is much better but he’s still not ready.”

Potential return date: N/A

Leroy Sane

Sane was the first player to pick up an injury this season.

The German winger lasted just 10 minutes of the Community Shield before damaging his knee. Thankfully, it wasn't a full ACL tear as was first feared and he only suffered partial damage.

It's still an injury that requires a lot of rehabilitation, however, but he is expected to be back for a big chunk of the season and is stepping up his fitness training, according to his Instagram.

What Pep Guardiola said:  "He's coming back before the end of the season. In January, December, February could be perfect. He should be perfect."

Potential return date: January 2020.

Aymeric Laporte

Like Sane, Laporte was fortunate not to suffer a full ACL tear but is still going to miss plenty of football and his absence has been a massive blow for City.

He damaged his cartilage and lateral meniscus while going in for a challenge with Brighton's Adam Webster and isn't expected to be back on the field until well into 2020.

He has, however, posted a training montage on his Instagram as he continues his recovery.

What Aymeric Laporte said:  "I miss you as much as you miss me but trust me I'm working hard to come back sooner and stronger."

Potential return date:  February 2020.
