As is the norm, Trophy Stall of Bourda Market, has officially joined the list of sponsors for the second KFC Goodwill Secondary Schools football championships.
Yesterday at a simple ceremony at the entity’s South Road location, a donation of trophies was made to the organisers.
Anjali Persaud, a representative of the establishment, made the presentation to tournament coordinator and Petra Organization Co-Director Troy Mendonca.
In brief remarks, Mendonca thanked the company on behalf of the sporting fraternity for their continued contributions to the development of sports.
The event runs from Saturday until December 22nd and will feature six teams along with two international institutions, USL Montjoly Academy of French Guiana and defending champion Shiva Boys’ Hindu College of Trinidad & Tobago.
The Desrey Fox Secondary School (Waramadong) of Region 7 and the top two teams from the GuyOil Schools’ Football League, which is set to start shortly, will also be included. The teams will be divided into two groups of three. At the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers will advance to the knockout round. The venue for the event has not been finalized.
