AGRA: A 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy in Farrukhabad district.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in Mubarikpur village of Jahanganj police jurisdiction. On Thursday, the accused teenager who is also the neighbour of victim was caught and presented to juvenile justice board and later was sent to juvenile detention centre.
Speaking to TOI, Tribhuwan Singh, additional superintendent of police Farrukhabad said, “At the time of incident, victim’s parents and other neighbours had went for condolence gathering on death of a villager.
The accused teenager took this opportunity and lured the victim who was playing alone outside, to accompany him in his house on the pretext of chocolate and then raped her.”
“The matter came to light, after victim’s aunt who was passing by the house heard her crying voice of the girl, and knocked on the door as it was locked from inside. The accused then left the victim with abdomen injury after opening the house door,” said ASP.
Based on the victim’s parents written complaint, a FIR under IPC section 376 (rape) and POCSO were registered against the accused.
Police official further alleged, that victim’s medical examination was delayed for nearly three hours, after Kamalganj based government hospital expressed its inability to conduct medical test of the girl, after which girl was taken to Farrukhabad district government hospital, who then cited jurisdiction issued to reject medical examination of the girl.
“After intervention of CMO Farrukhabad, the girl medical test was conducted at Farrukhabad government hospital, which confirmed rape assault,” added ASP.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
