33 cadets of Nalanda Sainik School clear NDA written exam

Sainik School, Nalanda has achieved the first rank in the National Defence Academy (NDA) written examination among all 33 Sainik Schools in the country. Altogether 33 cadets have been selected on the basis of NDA and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2019 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on November 17.

PATNA: Sainik School, Nalanda has achieved the first rank in the National Defence Academy (NDA) written examination among all 33 Sainik Schools in the country. Altogether 33 cadets have been selected on the basis of NDA and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2019 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on November 17.
The cadets have qualified for interview to be conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the ministry of defence for admission to army, navy and air force wings of the NDA for the 144th and 106th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC), which will begin on July 2, 2020.
Lakhs of students from all the Sainik Schools, Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) and other military schools and civil sector public schools had appeared for the prestigious examination.
Principal of the school Col M I Hussain expressed happiness and congratulated parents, teachers and the selected cadets for maintaining the tradition of bringing laurels to the school. “The credit for this success goes to the tireless work done by the students, officers, teachers and employees,” he said.
The principal said he was committed to taking the school to new heights. “Our school has made Bihar proud at the national level in academics as well as sports and extra-curricular activities. The school has been receiving merit certificates from the past eight years for its outstanding performance in Class X examination,” he said.
