Muzaffarpur: Protests over college girl burning case

Locals blocked the main entry point for vehicles entering Muzaffarpur from Darbhanga and Sitamarhi for several hours on Friday, demanding death penalty for the three youths who had set a 23-year-old girl on fire after failing to outrage her modesty on December 9. The girl, who had received 95% burn injuries, is battling for life at a private nursing home in Patna.

MUZAFFARPUR: Locals blocked the main entry point for vehicles entering Muzaffarpur from Darbhanga and Sitamarhi for several hours on Friday, demanding death penalty for the three youths who had set a 23-year-old girl on fire after failing to outrage her modesty on December 9. The girl, who had received 95% burn injuries, is battling for life at a private nursing home in Patna.
The incident had occurred at a village under the Ahiapur police station area in the district.
Three youths had allegedly tried to set ablaze the girl, an undergraduate student of a local college. The main accused, Raja Rai, was arrested on December 9. Angry with the delay in arrest of the other two accused, locals blocked the national highway between Zero Mile and Saraiyaganj Tower Chowk on Thursday. They were also demanding death penalty for the three accused.
