Hi, I don’t know what your current employment situation is, but if you’re (a) looking for a job, (b) based in England, and (c) a fan of the royals, Christmas might come early for you this year, ’cause Buckingham Palace is hiring!
While I’ve always assumed that getting hired to work for the royal family is some sort of hush-hush process that you’d need an insider connection to even be considered for, it actually looks like the royals post their job openings online, like every other employer in the world does. Who knew?
And if you currently head to the royal household’s website, you’ll see that they’re seeking a “head of digital engagement” for the queen herself, to oversee all her “digital channels,” including social media. According to the job description:
“It’s about never standing still and finding new ways to maintain The Queen’s presence in the public eye and on the world stage. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional....The reaction to our work is always high-profile and so reputation and impact will be at the forefront of all you do. And having your work shared around the world will be the biggest reward.”
The job is also literally located in Buckingham Palace, and one of the perks is free lunch, which feels very important to mention.
