Bhopal: A man in the the district headquarters of Neemuch was on Saturday arrested on charges of raping his eight year-old daughter in an inebriated state, police said.
According to the police, the child helpline received a call that a man was assaulting his minor daughter every evening under the influence of alcohol.
Police launched a search to rescue the girl and found her in her house a couple of days ago. She narrated her ordeal before a child counsellor who briefed the police.
“The medical examination of the girl has confirmed that she was raped”, the investigating officer said.
