Lesson of the day: If you’re going to steal from the bank where you work, don’t post pictures of yourself flaunting the ill-gotten gains on social media.

North Carolina Wells Fargo bank employee Arlando Henderson has been charged after he allegedly helped himself to nearly AUD $130,000 in cash from the vault of the bank where he worked.

It’s alleged Henderson stole the cash from the bank and then deposited it via an ATM into his own account.

He’s also accused of destroying documents and making false entries in the bank’s books as part of a cover up.

A criminal indictment was unsealed this week in federal court in Charlotte revealed Henderson would face court over financial institution fraud and related charges.

FBI special agent in charge of the Charlotte division John A. Strong said in a written statement that on at least 18 occasions Henderson stole cash from customer deposits, using it for a large cash down payment on a 2019 Mercedes Benz and personal expenses.

“Throughout July and August 2019, Henderson used a social media account to post several pictures of him holding large stacks of cash,” Special Agent Strong said.
