Rooney takes dig at Allardyce

Wayne Rooney’s taken a dig at Sam Allardyce as he eyes winning promotion to the Premier League with Derby County.

The former Everton striker has linked up with the Rams ahead of his move next month.

And he’s hit out at being sidelined under the former England manager during his second stint at Goodison prior to his move to the MLS.

I still felt I could do it at Everton – but other people made the ­decisions on that.


But it’s important to understand that football’s not about running around, it’s about using your brain. It’s about using your head to play the game, and I feel I can still do that.

Everton are reportedly one of five Premier League sides scouting Bordeaux striker Josh Maja.

The 20-year-old has impressed for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring six goals from 16 appearances including a hat-trick against Nimes.

And All Nigeria Soccer claim the Blues are monitoring the former Sunderland man alongside Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Burnley.
