Oakland Raiders fans get nuts after losing final game at California arena

Oakland Raiders fans flipped out following the team’s loss at home Sunday in the final game at their longtime California arena, refusing to leave the stands and tossing garbage onto the field.

At least one fan was apprehended after the team fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars, losing a 20-16 heartbreaker in the final minute of the game.

After the matchup concluded, some fans in a part of the stadium known as the Black Hole refused to leave the arena, where their team has played their last 327 home games.

Footage from the stadium shows a large number of raucous fans congregating behind one of the end zones.

“Black hole tosses garbage onto the field as Raiders lose their last game in Oakland in the final minute,” tweeted Yahoo Sports reporter Torrey Hart.

In a later tweet, Hart said the scene was “descending into chaos,” along with a video of security guards struggling with somebody near the stands.

Another photo posted to Twitter from the post-game mayhem shows a fan decked out in Raiders attire being hauled away by the police with his hands behind his back.

Beginning next season, the team’s new home will be in Las Vegas.
