BAREILLY: A day after internet services were suspended in some districts of western UP, the district magistrate AK Singh ordered on Tuesday suspension of internet in Sambhal for next 24 hours. Notably, the administration in Saharanpur, Meerut and Aligarh has already suspended the internet services as a precautionary measure after violence protest took place in Delhi in protest of amended citizenship act.
Meanwhile, local Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman called a meeting in Sambhal to mark protest opposing of the CAA.
DM said that nobody would be allowed to hold any meeting without procuring prior permission. "Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC in the district are already in place following that nobody will be permitted to hold any gathering or meeting in the district," DM told TOI.
Meanwhile, MP Barq said that the CAA posed threat to all citizens including Muslims. “The government has passed the bill since majority was at their side but they should not forget that the country is for everyone and every person has right to live here,” MP said.
He said that the meeting was called to narrate the common man how the CAA violates the Constitution.
